As we wait patiently for the (unknown) release date of Waze and Google Maps app updates for Apple CarPlay support in iOS 12, which releases on Monday, TomTom has been the first to commit to a ‘rough’ release date as to when their TomTom navigation app will be available on iOS 12.
In amp official reply to a tweet, TomTom support team has mentioned that their CarPlay supported update will be available to CarPlay owners ‘early next year’.
We at TomTom are excited that Apple CarPlay will now support third party navigation apps and we are preparing to be available for CarPlay users early next year.
Best,

With the release of iOS 12 just a few days away now, both Google and Waze camps have been tight-lipped on the release date for each of their CarPlay supported updates. Private beta testers have also said that they have yet to see any CarPlay supported updates release for them during the iOS 12 beta program, so it is looking highly unlikely that we will be loading up Waze of Google Maps on Apple CarPlay on Monday.
The closest third-party navigation app that’s looking more likely to release first, will be from Sygic, who have already demo’d their Sygic navigation Apple CarPlay app running in a recent video.
We will have more news on this when we hear more.
